School's out for summer! Katie came home from the dorms a few weeks ago, Kerri finished her classes at Manchester-Essex Regional High School as well, and all is quiet on the Endicott campus, where Jenny works. Vin especially is happy the semester is over!

Plans are being made for the summer months. Kerri plans on doing tech for Manchester Summerstage's production of Guys and Dolls; and will be in the chorus/dancing for Annisquam's production of Brigadoon. Katie too will be in Brigadoon. The girls have been dying to do this show for years, with the Scottish dancing and all! Jenny will, of course, be playing in the pit again.

We're also busy planning our annual Austin Sibling Reunion, braces for both the girls' mouths, our annual trip to New York City, a vacation this year to Lake George, getting Kerri to finally drive, painting all the bedrooms, remodeling the upstairs bathroom, and fixing up Kerri's bedroom with a new wood floor, a built-in desk where those awful kitchen cabinets are, and getting her computer upstairs.

A super-duper congratulations out to my brother David Austin, for winning one of five awards for "distinguished undergraduate teaching" at Yale University! The coolest thing is that the recipients for these awards are selected by the students! We don't have the text of the actual award, but click here to read the letter informing Dave of his selection for receipt of The Dylan Hixon '88 Prize for Teaching Excellence in the Natural Sciences. We went to the ceremony in the cold rain, and then celebrated his honor along with the three graduates at Greg's. The graduates are Tamara, for her master's degree, Billy, for eight grade, and Kerri, for high school. Congrats to all!
