Vin Connors - Meet the man!

Vin is a 41 year old married father of two daughters. He is a software engineer, and has worked at the same company for the last 7 years.

Vin grew up in Seymour, Connecticut. His father was Chief of Police for many years until his retirement in the early 80s. Vin attended Maple Street School and graduated from Hopkins Day School in New Haven, CT. Vin attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for one year before deciding that college wasn't right for him at that time.

In 1982, Vin met his future wife, Jenny (nee Austin). They married the next year, residing for a while in Seymour. Vin's oldest daughter, Katie, was born in 1985, and Kerry followed the next year. Before Kerry's first birthday, Vin and his family moved to Ansonia, CT, where they lived for the next 10 years. During that time, Vin went back to college, and graduated from the University of New Haven in December, 1994.

In addition to attending college, Vin worked one or even two jobs to support his family, including various management positions at Pathmark, and as a night auditor at UPS. Seeking a better opportunity for his career, he relocated his family to Massachusetts to take an engineering position at Varian Semiconductor.

Despite working two jobs and attending school at the same time, Vin always managed to find time to be a hands-on father to his two daughters. He and his wife would frequently work different shifts to avoid having to rely on daycare or babysitters. When the girls were toddlers, it was not uncommon for Vin to have them fed, bathed and in their pajamas by 6pm! As the children grew older and began Irish step dancing, Vin became the consummate "feis father," especially after they moved to Massachusetts and the girls began taking lessons in Boston. By this point, Jenny began working second shift and attending college, so Vin would drive the girls to lessons several times a week, as well as competitions many weekends. Never content to merely carry the cooler and spend the day reading the paper, Vin would get stage schedules, take out curlers, and calm nerves.

Vin is presently working on his master's degree in Computer Systems Engineering at Northeastern University, Boston. He enjoys fishing, movies, reading and gardening. Vin works out regularly, and is very health-conscious.
