Vin Connors - Here's the plan!Bring back COMMON SENSE to politics! Vin is a registered Republican, but doesn't necessarily agree with all of the party's platforms. In a nutshell, here is what Vin espouses: Iraq: We went in for the wrong reasons (it turns out), but the world is a better place without Saddam. We're there; let's finish the job and get out. The economy: We need to figure out a way to keep jobs in this country. The deficit: Put my wife in charge of the budget. She'll have us turning a profit in no time. Education: Duh. Children are the future of our country. I would have considered teaching as a career, but would have had to take more than a 50% pay cut. Abortion: Pro-choice. The moral question of whether or not to have an abortion should not be up to the government. Health care: Should be available to all Americans. Gun control: Law-abiding people should not object to longer waiting periods, but I see no reason for assault weapons. Separation of church and state: Yes. Drugs: I see no reason to legalize so-called recreational drugs. Crime: I believe in capital punishment. Taxes: The money the government already collects can probably be spent more efficiently. Social Security: As the baby boomers age, we will have to get used to the fact that it's not enough to live on. Medicare: See Health care above. Gay marriage: Let them have all the same privileges and garbage that comes with it. Elections: I feel we should adopt the British model. Their campaigns are for one month, leaving the politicians more time to do what they are actually supposed to be doing--running the country. Campaign Finance Reform: Limit contributions to $10 per person and do away with all corporate contributions.
